St Melyd Golf Club Membership Categories:
Young Member – persons aged 26 – 30yrs. – will carry Full Membership privileges. Must be between the above ages on 1 February.
Intermediate Member – persons aged between 18 – 25 yrs. – will carry Full membership privileges with exception of voting rights. Must be between the above ages on 1 February.
Student Member – persons aged 18 – 25 yrs. being in full time education or on an approved apprentice scheme and will carry Full membership privileges with the exception of voting rights. Must be between the above ages on 1 February.
Junior Member – Junior members (boys) possessing an Official Club Handicap of 18 or less are eligible to take part in all Club competitions with the exception of the Majors where a handicap of 12 or less is required. Junior members (boys) with handicaps between 19 and 28 may play in all Yellow tee competitions and White tee competitions with the exception of Majors and Monthly Medals. Junior members (girls) are eligible according to L.G.U. Rules, but remain subject to rules governing juniors where applicable.
Second Club Member – must be a full member of another golf club with a current handicap certificate. Second Club Members are able to play in official Club competitions i.e. Men’s Saturday competitions, Ladies’ Thursday competitions, and Club Mixed competitions, with the exception of Major/Board competitions. They may play in Club matches. They are able to play in Captain’s or President’s Day competitions (Men’s and Ladies) but only by invitation from the Captain/President.
Country & Overseas Members – must reside outside a radius of 30 miles from Prestatyn and are not eligible to play in any official Club competitions i.e. Men’s Saturday competitions, Ladies’ Thursday competitions, any Club Mixed competitions or any Club Knockout competitions. Also they may not play in any Club matches. They are however able to play in unofficial competitions i.e. midweek Senior competitions, Friday 9 hole summer stablefords, any unofficial Men’s or Ladies’ competitions (e.g. summer midweek medals or stablefords) They are able to play in Captain’s or President’s Day competitions (Men’s and Ladies) but only by invitation from the Captain/President.
9 Hole Member – The Category is available by application from persons with a minimum of 20 years full membership in writing to the Club Secretary. Acceptance will be subject to approval by the Club Council and subject to availability. Applications will be reviewed on a first come first served basis and continued eligibility reviewed annually. The Category will be restricted at any moment in time to a maximum of 15 persons in total.
The Category is intended to compensate loyal members who due to infirmity or ill health are unable to play a full round. Members in this category are eligible to enter Official Club 9 Hole competitions.
Honorary Members – playing & non-playing Members with 50 years unbroken full membership. Both categories carry full membership privileges and Honorary Members may elect to be either playing or non-playing.
New Member offer – Applicants will have full Member privileges with the exception of voting rights and must not have been a member of the Club on or after 31st December 2013. This exemption is only available once in a lifetimembership Information

Please note:- Members taking up this option are reminded that the membership agreement is for a full 12 month period ending 31st January 2019 and the Eazipay scheme is merely an option to spread the cost of this annual membership and therefore it should NOT be viewed as a monthly subscription that may be cancelled at will prior to the end of the membership year.
